Mito (御津町 Mito-chō?) is a town of nearly 20,000 people located in Aichi Prefecture between Toyokawa, Gamagori, and Toyohashi. In summer, 2007, it will become a part of Toyokawa city and be known as "Toyokawa-shi, Mito-chō." It is a farm town with many rice fields located on the Mikawa bay. However, it is a local JR stop, which makes Nagoya 1 hour 15 min by train. Toyohashi is 9 minutes by local train and it is a Shinkansen stop.
